It's been 19 months since I had the ******* idea of getting rid of the eyesore that was our "courtyard". One thing led to another and what started out as an enclosed entertainment area replacing the courtyard ballooned into plastering and repainting the entire house, building a water feature/ pond, adding a pool (which made landscaping necessary to deal with a slope), and repainting the roof. For the umpteenth weekend I spent all day Saturday working on the house - this time in courtyard v2. Victory is finally mine and all that remains in there now is one little concrete block and a doorframe to be constructed from the wood I saved from the debacle that was courtyard v1. Thank goodness for music, without which I could never spend all day fighting with stuff I know nothing about.
