I was always under the impression that all "HD-Ready" LCD and Plasma TVs have scalers builtin, but it seems not to be the case.
The Samsung LCD I won can display up to 1080i, but that is determined by the input and I have had a look at a the manuals of a number of 32" LCD TVs(Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Sony) and none of them mention anything about scalers.
Now my question is which technology(LCD/Plasma) have builtin scalers?
