This weekend i got the opportunity to try out some previously dead, hand me down gear.
To say I was absolutely blown away by the amazing ?vintage sound? would definitely be an understatement. Live acoustic music sounds like i have never heard it before. Adele live at the Royal Albert Hall and Jason Mraz the EP?s was particularly enjoyable.
I now get what the hype is about regarding the older equipment. My Yamaha / PSB system didn?t even power on this weekend.
The gear is as follows: (Amp and Speakers was paired and supplied by Fogler sound circa 1980?s)
Amp: Onkyo A7070 (This amp was dead when i got it. Kent Kassler recommended a local repairer who done an absolutely stunning job on the repair)
Speakers: B & W DM14 (Thanks Shonver for advising me not to get rid of them)
Cd : Yamaha (Not sure of the model but mid 90?s)
Turntable: Technics SL1200 MK2 / Stanton 680hp cart
