Hi Forumers! I need help with buying an LP player. My mother has a collection of LP records from the late 70s / early 80s. Since her last LP player in the early 90s, her records have been gathering dust. She has decent albums: Dave Crusin, Bob James, The Commodores, Billy Joel, etc. Her enthuasism hit the roof when i told her LP players are still around (not at Dion Wired, Hifi Corp, etc). Now i want to suprise her with a decent record player set up. I have a Cambridge Audio 540R which i tried selling on this forum last year, with no luck. I will use it together with standmount speakers - suggestions welcome. Any suggested LP players? I dont need an expensive player just a decent priced one (will consider used) with a phono stage. My budget for the LP and speakers around R3.5k. I also noticed that today vinyls diameter is smaller. Therefore the LP has to be able to handle the older records.
