Hi Guys.
I?ve been reading a lot lately about several systems, reviews where a certain digital media is compared with vinyl, valves vs solid state etc etc.
One thing that struck me was the number of times the following occurred.
1) Someone in favour of Vinyl?s sound, also likes Valve equipment.
2) Someone in favour of PCM or DSD, also likes Solid State equipment.
Obviously this does not apply all the time, but it seems like it applies more often than not. Lets look locally, even here it pops out. We have Schalk from ?Valve? Audio, a known Vinyl lover, also makes a killer phono stage from what I hear. So again, Vinyl and Valves. Then we have Andre from Maestro, who makes Solid State amps to die for, and low and behold, stands firmly on the digital side when we banter a bit on the forum about ?CD vs Vinyl?.
I am firmly in group 2, digital and solid state. Some of my mates are firmly in group 1, Vinyl and valves.
Again, there would be many exceptions obviously, but has anyone else also picked up on this, lets call it; ?general? occurrence.
I wonder what it is the reason, if anyone knows?
