A number of avforums.co.za Reprobates are searching for the truth re Vinyl vs Digital.
This also involves apole poll. (see Vinyl & Tube Amps = Vinyl vs Digital. In search of the truth.)
Why?
Never ending debate, but more importantly we want to know just wtf possessed GearSlave to sell his LP12 :nutter: and go all Digital on us?
(Sanity prevails - he still has a Schalk amp).
Does he need help?
Time will tell :EGrin:
The silent majority out there can make a valuable contribution to the debate.
(And someone will score a bottle of Macallan 12yr old to boot).
Here's how :
Got a decent record player? And a cd player? (or any of that other propellor-head digital stuff?)
Got a decent record ? - got the equivalent on CD or flac?
Do your own comparison and publish your experience & conclusions here, in own words. (keep it simple)
Please list the sources (ie. Cambridge,SACD vs LP12,45rpm lp).
To win the Macallan simply predict what the poll percentage will be at 12h00 on 1 Dec 2012.
ie Vinyl (60%) That other stuff (40%) total votes 60.
(predicted votes # count and number of submitted comparisons here will hopefully settle a tie)
