Hi all
Planning a trip to Europe with the GF. Paris is a must and will be the second week of the 2-week trip. For the first week, we deliberated over a number of options and are both quite keen to do Florence and Venice.
We are a little confused due to conflicting information on when to go. From what I have read, May to July is peak so quite busy and expensive. Some sources have said that ?August is the worst time to go because Italy goes on vacation? (shops and restaurants closed etc) and heat. Whilst other sources cited that in Florence and Venice (and other cities) there is summer low season in hotel pricing all of August.
If we want to visit just Florence and Venice, would August be a bad time to go? I think May/June may be a bit too soon (budget et al); should we delay the trip until September?
