Bought a few 32 GB flash disks from a vendor next to the road. Actually, 3 different vendors. The first sold me one for R150, coming down from his initial R250 he wanted. As I just bought 2x 8 GB Veribatums the previous day, I knew the prices of the 32GB versions were about R700 - R850 each, and even at R300 it presented a bargain. Question however was whether these things are working or not. So I showed some initial interest, and the guy dropped down to R150, so I took one.

On my way back some guy again offered me some, and as I only had (showed him) a R100 note, he accepted my note for another disk. These two were Transends. Next robot some guy with Kingston 32GB disks. So I took one from him for R100. Bargain.

That was a month ago. Since then I gave one Transend away, and only recently tried the other one. Copied the files, but when I tried to remove the files I got an "unreadable" error. So I formatted the disk and did a full surface scan (bad sectors). Got about 1% bad sectors. The scan also took an age. Scanning the Kingston now.

Do not buy the stuff ...
