Elsewhere, I wrote about damage done to my car during a camshaft dephaser replacement.
Inexplicably, my car was lifted on its body away from the jack point and Waterhond kindly posted pics of the problem and other mnembers contributed with some advice and humour as to what I should do next.
In the meantime, the person responsible has stayed mum about the affair although I have sent him two quotations for repairs a day or two ago.
I called him this morning only to hear vague mention of Orbit panelbeaters but I cannot possibly hand over my car to this person again.
Anyway, on to the 'Rat's Nest" talk. I did a bit of internet research on the firm I intended to take my car to and it doesn't look very hot according to unhappy feedback from their customers. On the web site I perused, there are 3 pages of customer comments and more than 50% seems bad, although only one adverse iro the branch where my car was going to go.
So, I'll rather stay with the devil I know, despite the somewhat invasive nature of their repair.
