Just as a matter of interest, why are DVD players not as good at playing CDs as dedicated CDPs? Does it have anything to do with the DACs in DVDPs?
An "Audiophile" of the "Golden Ear" type suggested that I use my DVD player(CA DVD79) as a transport connected to a dedicated DAC instead of spending any money on my Rotel CDP(new transport, etc) According to him the transport in the Rotel is not even as good as that of an entry-level Sony DVD player.
Your thoughts?
