some people will attest that this is BS and a cable is a cable even if it is a coat hanger and they sound all the same

over the last few weeks i have been subjected to some of the most exotic and not so exotic offered in the industry......and they all have their own signature. but how can it be measured
so some say. LRC charisteristics, some want to measure it on a scope .....the list goes on but this isn't the way to do it as it will tell you nothing. other that you are getting some kind of wave form through it.

i think I have a test to measure the signature of a cable.
it is based on the two tone test to test inter-modulation distortion. in this case it will be a passive inter-modulation distortion
but instead of 2 tones you inject about 10 or more pure signal tones across the audio band through the cable. (loaded not loaded, to be determined)
the signals will have to be injected at various input levels. ie 0.5v 1v 1.5v 2v
with a spectrum analyzer you will then see the resulting patterns of IM

and if you can't measure anything then i have a open invitation to compare a RG58 mill spec cable with a genesis triton in my system.
