When did these become accepted in SA?

We were discussing early adopters of technology and was wondering when the following came wide spread in SA?

CD
DVD
DSTV

The reason I ask is that I remember getting CD in about 1990, DVD in 2000 and DSTV in 1997. From what I recall, we were reasonably early in getting this technology. Am I right in my memories?
