The speakers would be a definite upgrade as a first pass. The 600 series (and I've heard these) are not regarded as the best. Upgrade to the 700 and the difference is obvious.Regarding the warm up time - this is true for any system. I may use my hi fi once a week and it has to play for 30mins before the sound changes to balanced and warm from hard.You can't do anything about the recording quality. Your setup should reproduce the best / favorite recordings to your satisfaction and just accept the rest as it comes.Different amps will give different bass responses at various volume levels.
