So me and a mate was sitting this weekend talking kak over a few beers.
He's got a set of Senni in ears and its get source from his laptop.
Sounds way bright to me.
I play him a few FLAC tunes on my system and he looks absolutely amazed. Plug in the Dragonfly and Senni HD650's from my laptop and also play a few FLAC audio files he is still amazed.
He then asks me he wants to start getting into this as well and where should he spend his money initially a really good amplification source or speakers.
I couldn't give him a answer as I have over many years found that you need a match.
If I have a Classe amp and Dixon speakers its not going to sound great as the source is clear strong but the speaker cant really deliver all that highs and lows.
Vice versa if I have a set of 805d's and they get powered by a Dixon amp they wont be able to perform well.
What I do how ever have learned is a cheapish speaker can sound a lot better with a good source, where as I believe a great speaker wont sound great with a bad source.
Please give me some input on this.
Thanks.
Andre
