I've got a house which hasn't really been touched in close to 14 years, literally. It's been rented out for the past 6 years at around 20-30% less than market, due to condition. I've now got R100,000.00 to put in and maybe sell a year. It isn't much, I know, and the reason for the topic. Basically, where would you distribute it if that's all you have? I'm guessing painting and varnishing will take half that alone
House is in Randpark Ridge on a 1600sqm meter stand. It's in between both high and primary school, but in a quiet cul de sac - so location is what it has going for it. Back in 1998 it was R480,000, so more expensive than the average house according to ABSA, but today in the condition it'd be R1.4m ... which is sad considering.
Any other small things for the remaining R50,000?
