Hwzit guyz . I'm new to this forum. I'm in the process of upgrading my av receiver and i know u guys will be able to help me chose the correct one. i currently have the sony str 1500 6.2 receiver which i purchased 2 years ago. I recently went to an auction and managed to get man hands on the sony tallboys, surrounds and sub. I hooked all up to this amp and i get ok sound when the volume is about 90%. I know decided that i want to get a new reciever. I'm willing to spend around R 5000 but dont want to buy something that will outdated in a couple of months time.
I've been around and most of the guys recomended the sony DG 910 which seeing the sony website i see has been discontinued but still has lots of features that can bee used in the future. I've also come across the Yamaha Rx 661 which seems like a pretty good receiver.
Are any of these receivers any good. The Sony is around R3000 and the Yamaha around R5000. Is there a vast differnce between these two recievers or can u can guys recomend any other recievers i can look at.
