My Dell machine has a Toslink output from the sound card as well as the usual USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports.
Reading Computer Audiophile, some members go on and on about different USB cables to the extent that some contradict themselves. My SONY amp has optical inputs and displays on the front panel the bit rate and frequency at which the recording was made (44.1 / 96 / 192KHz, etc) but it is now 8 years old so I don't trust the inbuilt DAC
Some DACs specify that they will accept 192KHz recordings via a digital input but only 96KHz via USB. I am sure there is minimal difference between 96KHz and 192KHz recordings, sound wise
Should an optical or digital co-ax signal be better-sounding than USB?
