I have one or two questions to ask and need advice :
My Sumiko Blue Point 2 is almost 5 years old and starting to show a bit of wear and tear in that it is becoming noisy.
I will only deal with Hi-Phibian for reasons best known to myself which he does not even know about but mainly the the cartridge has to be aligned and fitted at my house due to the fact I cannot lift the Micro anymore.I have been offered 4 cartridges in my price range.Remember I am almost 62 years of age and hearing is not what it was.
Another Sumiko Blue Point 2.I like the cartridge but I believe it is time to move on.It has a very low noise floor and is a reasonable all rounder.
Sumiko EVO 111-Better than the Blue Point 2 but is fragile which scares me as my eyesight is very bad.I could damage it and I do not like the look.
Ortofon Blue-Cheapest of the lot but has a high noise floor from what I have read on the internet.I hate noisy cartridges.
Ortofon Red Quintet-Now this cartridge i do no know about.I read on the internet but do not get to much information.Sure HP will have to re jumper my phono-stage to take the low output cartridge but that is not a train smash. It will also mean that the SP10 will not be able to play through the phonostage but that is not serious as at the moment I do not play it due to level problems and the arm which needs re-alignment.
Your suggestions would be appreciated about which way to go regarding the cartride.Arm is a FXR 2.
