Why do you think Audio in SA is such a male-dominated pursuit?

Where are all the 'audiofillies'?

I mean, we do see members of the fair gender at audio shows - although usually accompanying their partners...

But few, if any, take any really serious interest in audio and related aspects.

Is this linked to testosterone-production and female oegesterone-production has the effect of killing off any potential interest in audio?
Or is it that us males tend to be more prone to playing with technology and then yacking about it to other males, while females have other pursuits to discuss such as fashion, cooking, raising bambinos, etc?

Does this lack of feminine involvement make audio forums like this one a refuge or haven of sanity away from those overly domestic topics of conversation that dominate any mixed company?

Or should we all go out and buy horn-rimmed spectacles and pocket-protectors?

??? ::) :eek: 8)
