I currently have the Cambridge Audio 840A integrated amp but due to CUD/new house I want to change things around a bit. I'm thinking of getting one of the Emotiva XPA power amps and then use the CA as a pre-amp. Not sure how it is going to sound but the reason I want to use the CA is that I understand that I should be able to use the AMP section of the CA to drive some outdoor speakers either while the main system is still playing or not. Is there any problems with using the pre-outs and the speaker binding posts at the same time?

What is the best way to go about with outdoor speakers? I was also thinking off trying the Emotiva outdoor speakers or would the in-wall speakers be better? The speakers will be under a roof but I want speakers that I won't need to move out of the weather at all. Any other suggestions for outdoor speakers as I'm completely clueless. And how do you get some bass going outdoors?
