R.I.P. 23 June 2022
It is with absolute shock that I learnt today, upon arriving home after absense, of the murder of Willem Bouwman, better known as Mr Valve. He was apparently shot in his driveway after returning home from a restaurant, on Thursday 10 July.
There is no way I can describe this personal loss. He was a friend, advisor, supporter, whom I have known for an all too short eight years. One could rely on his co-operation and impeccable service. Quite apart from the huge gaping void this leaves regarding the availability of valves in RSA, it will take some time for me to deal with this senseless occurence.
This is not the first blow in my life of this kind. A few years ago I had dealings with Mr Hawksford of then Hobart Transformers, who was in his younger days transformer designer for Partridge in the UK. He was as senselessly murdered by stabbing in a Cape Town street.
WHAT THE B...... HELL IS THIS PLACE COMING TOO!!!??
