Ok so my understanding is that a 6KVA Genny would be able to handle an average households electricity requirements ,but not using things like kettles, heaters and the stove.Could it run a 200L geyser for an hour or two to heat up the water, mom in laws seems to do fine with their 150L geyser.
Right next thing is what about wiring it directly to your DB.
The guys that did my in laws place ran a 1.5mm 3 core from the genny to the DB with an earth leakage.
Does not sound right if one is going to use the geyser or a kettle and I suggested they replace the 1,5mm with 4mm 3 Core.
There seem to be a few ways of doing this with the easiest way to run the genny straight into a wall outlet but I am really not crazy about the idea.
Thanks chaps
