See these little integrated stereo amps with built in ESS DAC are getting rave reviews. At USD 1499 plus shipping, seems like good value. Anybody have one or listened to one yet? Have to decide on my stereo amp options. Have to either build a pre/power combo, or use a power amp with my Yamaha RX-A2010 as pre-amp. Want to get a proper stereo setup up and running for my TT. My current kit consists of the following:
NAD 533 turntable with new motor, Rega RB250 arm and AT95e cartridge. Also finishing 2 x Lenco L75's, one with Jelco ST-250 arm. Still looking for another arm, or maybe use the RB250 from the NAD...?
Rega phono mini phonostage
Geco MM phone (almost done with the build, just have to connect the transform, switch and fuse)
Tannoy DC6T speakers or Tannoy 637 (I own a pair of both)
Maverick Audio D1 Plus Edition DAC
QED XT Anniversary bi-wire speaker cable
Based on what I own, I'd love to build a separate stereo system for use with my DAC and TT. That would mean at least 2 RCA inputs. Currently running all my Tannoys bi-wired, and the Tannoy 637's bi-amped as well. Remote control is a bonus, but I will need the ability to select a source and adjust volume.
So, buy a W4S MiNT based on reviews, or build some DIY amp? I know there is loads of help when building an amp on these forums, but most seems to be power amps. The DIY preamp options seem more limited. What about one of the Mars Valve amps?
Advice will be appreciated! Not in a hurry to decide, looking at my options....
