I've been granted the opportunity to get into some Yamaha CD players at a pretty good discounted price and was hoping to find out more about the value of these components in the market.
My current need is leaning more towards upgrading my amplification/speakers but I'm struggling to get into the gear I like with my current budget.
What would you guys say the following are worth, in terms of selling on, or trade-up to amplifier/speakers?
- CD-S3000 (Yamaha Flagship CD player circa 2013)
- CD-S2100
Although these are discontinued now, and probably loosing it's appeal in the direction hifi is moving, I understand they are both very serious pieces of equipment and have the ability to function as high end DAC's (Optical/Coaxial/USB).
Unbelievably, they are NEW units, available with full Yamaha warranties.
The only valuation guide I could find is the CD-S3000 going AEX-Mint at Audioexchange for R60,000.
I would like to hear you're opinions. I'm new at this.
