Yamaha NS-10M

I own a set of NS-10M's, which is actually very similar in reproduction "style" to the 1000's. Also very unforgiving of poorer recordings and rubbish amps. Power them properly though, and play well-recorded/produced source material, and they sing.

The 10's I have to partner with a sub though - they're too bass light. The 1000's with their big woofers are quite a bit better in that respect.

I thought Frikkie might want to read this report I found just this morning about "why NS-10?".
