    dont see much value in this compared to rasberry pi at a fraction of the price.  Plus you have some flexibility with the Pi due to USB ports and SD card etc

    Ant Control/Extermination

    you must try Diatomaceous earth.  I dont like using poisons so this is great and natural.  The ants dont come near it.  I apply it around window sills and doors ways once a month.  We are NEVER bothered by ants and its cheap!

    Laptop PS noise

    de-earthing always worked for me.  If you got a multi adapter or extension lead shove a screw driver into the earth socket to open up the other two and then insert the plug upside down. This got rid of the backround buzz or hiss in all sound systems I have used with a laptop as source.

    Logitech hamony remotes

    I've got the 650.  Love it except its got a bad habit of leaving the LCD light on and draining batteries.  Its meant to go to sleep when not moving but sometimes i see it on when no one has touched it.

    Which OS to use for HP Microserver??

    go for the complete OpenELEC + XBMC install.  It a Linux OS but you dont need to see any of it.  It's just there to run XBMC so its the fastest way but you dont get to do anything else with it
