Anybody ever applied Formica to the speakers as a finish. I am in the process of restoring some speakers and I can't get the surface good enough for spraying. In Formica you get a lot of colour options and it will hide all imperfections. Need some advice if anybody worked with this stuff before.

Just done mine. Measure and measure again and then measure some more. I was halve a mil  Out and that equates to 1mm overall. Still looks good but not the tight fit I was hoping for. Work slowly and remember that bit when it's rotating does stop for anything. Made a mistake of moving the router...

That is good news. I am more interested in the sound quality that comes out. Have heard some R12000 speakers in a audio shop( think it was polkas) before and it was awesome, tones was so clean. That is what I am basically aiming for in the end result. Plus all my mate's knows I am building them...

Guess what I am asking is if it  will be better than the commercial ones that is locally available.ie. Sony, sansui etc. If you have to buy equivalent in a shop what would you expect to pay. Yip not sure of the meaning 'high end' just won't a little wow factor and better than your commercial stuff.

Thinking of building the clou visaton as my first diy project.  Will this set be classified as hi end and where in the hi end range will it slot in. Also anybody that build or heard the clou to give some feed back Just don't want to be disappointed and never attempt a second build. Thanks

Ok. Second option. Anybody knows of a predesign 2.5way setup I can attemp with parts available  locally. Don't want to break the bank, just something that sound halve decent. It will be a trial run until I can order a predesign set with drivers from abroad.
