I got hold of Nilam yesterday and will take it to him. From other posts on the forum it seems like many people rate him highly.

Hi All I've got a Marantz PM-64 amp. For speakers I've got B&W DM640i speakers connected to the amp. The amp worked perfectly, but then started giving trouble on the left chanel. Sounded HEAVILY distorted like a broke speaker. At first I feared the speaker went. Eventually I could only play it...

I also bought a Phillips Reel to Reel last week when I visited Cape Town. Looks like the right hand reel movement is not 100%. Will post a pick later on. Dates to about mid 1950's. Hopefully I can get her restored.

So just to bring you up to speed. I lifted the plinth to check the Serial # of my Linn. It is #3343, so that would be somewhere around a 1975/76 model I reckon. Will first need some rewiring. Plinth need some attention and the lid needs a polish, plus one of the hinges is broken. I'm almost to...
