Hi Eendstop There are converters that you can buy that uses a tape to convert from mini jack and output to your player. Google it. Not sure how well they work and how good the quality is but it's worth a try. Check kalahari or wantitall.

I'd agree... it's very unlikely you'll hear the difference between high quality MP3's and FLAC. why not use the optical out of the Apple TV into your amp, hence your amp will be doing the converting. surely your amp's DAC isn't that bad?
