The NR 818 looks the business, I think i want to get this amp also. I was looking at the NR 616 but the 818 has a lot more features- sheish choices

I have found over the last few years sabc's quality in picture and audio has deteriated, volume levels fluctuate and contrast and brittleness changes from them broadcasting analogue content and digital content.. Very annoying. Also 16x9 and 4x3 bugs me big time

I read that you can, bi amp your speakers on the 818, use your left and right for the minds and mid left and right for the tweeter. As the 818 does 7.2 surround. You can also select your ohms, you can choose 6ohm or 8 ohm. All in the menu, under speaker set up.

A friend has the nr818, it's very nice I think. It has some great features. He is running Polk audio speakers.
