I'm going shopping this weekend for a new set of speakers. Since this is my first foray into "higher" end audio I would like to hear from the more experienced owners as to what qualifies and quantifies, well quality. With all the Q's out the way, I'm not asking for which brand is better in sound quality as I'm certain that I find something that sounds good to me. What I do however need help with is the build of the cabinets.
A lot of people mention knocking on the cabinet but how hollow is hollow and how resonant is resonant? Others seem to think that the heavier the cabinet the better. Apart from asking the salesman to dismantle it, what should i practically be looking out for?
