Garrard 301 refurbishment - worth it?

Thanks for all the advice, guys. For foreseeable future I won't have the capacity to do a proper job of the refurbishment myself, so have decided to let the TT go. I'm sure it will find a good home with one of the forum members who've already PM'ed me.

Garrard 301 refurbishment - worth it?

Garbage collection happens to be tomorrow morning, so just wanted to check before I threw it out. It looked kinda lonely out there on the sidewalk so I put a box of old LP's next to it to keep it company. On a more serious note, I'm not the most qualified person to attempt a refurbishment...

Garrard 301 refurbishment - worth it?

I've re-discovered a Garrard model 301 turntable in my workshop, with a model 2400 "all balance" pickup arm. No plinth, and the mat has got some damage. Is it worth refurbishing and if so is there anyone in SA that can do this?

    Good quality kettle plugs

Got the female kettle plug from AP electronics. Opened it, removed the terminals, then cut the housing with a hacksaw on the blue line. Cut the screw connection of the terminals leaving about 7mm to solder the mains wire onto. Threaded the mains wire through the original hole (red lines). Put on...

    Good quality kettle plugs

I've not been able to find very low profile right angle plugs, so I made my own. Bought the female kettle cord plugs from AP electronics, cut it 5mm after the insertion point, applied some soldering and heat shrink and filled the cavity with black RTV silicone. Viola! A power plug with a cord...
