    Sealed Or Ported....JL12W6V2

A long time ago I tried to get AV Forums powers to create a small sub-section for car audio. We are all after good audio, be it at home, at the office, using cans or your car.... The thread is anctient, but it might be worth re-looking at...

    Sealed Or Ported....JL12W6V2

I 100% agree, this is EXACTLY what I did before. A Sealed enclosure built to the manufacturers specs, 3Sixty.2 processor and a huge amount of power readily available. That setup was just amazing and too this day is still probably my all time favorite listening setup I have ever experienced.

Looking for any DIY repair ideas for the damaged sub

The damaged driver still plays fine, it obviously doesn't sound as good. And I am also worried that if I stress the driver at the moment it will slowly worsen. I can take out one driver and then make a new box to reduce the size, however, I expect that would entail be more work then trying to...

    Sealed Or Ported....JL12W6V2

I would def say sealed all the way. That sub will certainly be loud enough if you give it enough power, and then you wont have to sacrifice too much space in your car. What car is this going into? What amp are you using to drive it?

Looking for any DIY repair ideas for the damaged sub

Hello fellow forumites, I returned back home from my leave to find one of our company drivers accidentally damaged one of the subs in my car. Cleary something was stacked very stupidly and damaged the sub. I am not looking to replace this unit as I will soon be moving and will no longer be in...

    B&O Beovox 2702

Hi all, A friend is packing up his gigantic house to retire etc and hidden in his attic were some old B&O Beovox speakers, there is a pic of the old model number here Are these any good? They look like they are from the day and age when B&O made good stuff before their days of crazy design and...

Durban WiMax / non cable or 3G options?

Hi fellow nerds, A colleague is struggling to get any form of data at his house in durbs, there are no exchanges near for any kind of DSL and there is no 3G coverage at the house (besides, 3G is really expensive anyway). We also checked Neotel's wimax options but it wasnt in data range. Does...

    Networking range extender

Hi fellow forumites, I am fairly sure I know the answer to this already (ie, it's not possible). BUT: I have this wifi router - Cisco N300 - which seems to have died itself a slow death yesterday when I got home from work. I also have a wireless range extender (this one here) which was working...

Remote Control Your HTPC or Desktop PC

I'm with Curlycat here and 100% agree. I have been thru the mini keyboards andd find them frustrating, and the range dips too quick when not fully charged. I have the same model KB mouse in the pic (which is a downgrade from my previous one which died recently) but it works a treat. I sit about...

    DSTV CAN GO GET F.,?

I have zero interest in DSTV. I would only use it for sport, and for that amount of bucks it's worth my while to buy 2.3 beers and some pub grub at my local sports bar once per week when I would be watching anyways and still have a saving. For home it's XBMC for me all the way!

    New Rolls Royce for audiophiles?

It's an interesting take. I personally really enjoy listening in a car (for particular types of music) because it's closed off and seems to give me alot more impact, especially with midbass and the low frequencies. It's much harder to generate the SPL to do that in a big open room. Of course...

    New Rolls Royce for audiophiles?

This is interesting..... Rolls-Royce's new Wraith can silence the jeers of the poor - from Engadget.com Rolls-Royce's new Wraith can silence the jeers of the poor Music is about youth, vibrancy and rebellion, something that seems at odds with Rolls-Royce, cars that are normally the province...

DIY car sound install - a strange one!

Hey Noizeguy, That looks great... although, the back of my seats are slightly different. Also, I have measured the space and it's tiny, the current subs I have will certainly not fit in there I am afraid. It's a pity as full stealth is generally the way I go for my installs.

DIY car sound install - a strange one!

OK, I redid the last 2 images to be embedded: and Here is the first test fit: Here it is with it's "lid" on. Of course, all is still to be sprayed / painted.

DIY car sound install - a strange one!

Hello fellow forumites, So I recently (um, in January) received a new company car, a double cab Nissan hardbody. Its a great car but it has only one large problem.... no space for my crazy sound. Unfortunately, there is no space under the seats (neither front nor back seat nor behind the seat)...

How much does your Hi-Fi / audio system weigh?

Holy crap, it's ALOT! My subs weigh about 100-150kg each.
