Just an update on this circuit and functionality. The circuit worked 100% after decreasing the cap value to 470uF. No more occasional double triggers.

I'm using my "retired from the lounge" Marantz AVR (NR1402) (5.1 setup) for my racing sim. It adds a lot to the immersion and better than headphones in this scenario.

I also thought that it could be the issue but in theory I should only draw about 20mA to turn the first relay on and the trigger is capable of supplying 200mA
