I never could finish it, so i bought all new components from diyaudiostore to start fresh. As i started to prep the case and rip out the existing...

    HDMI Extender

a proper HDMI cable should be good up to 30m. Cheapie extenders will cost you over R2k, so stick with HDMI.

    Voice cabling 11 Floor Hotel

This. Also, i don't really see the point of using shielded cable indoors. Unless there is something specific that would cause EM interference. The hotel obviously wants a cheapy install, but using CAT5 instead of a 4 core telco cable won't be a significant saving, and the future proofing...

    Yammie RX-V663 IR Dead

Hi Guys, My Dad's receiver, a Yamaha RX-V663 seems to have lost it's IR receiver. Neither the Harmony nor the original remote works on it any more. Any suggestions for somewhere to fix it in Cape Town? Or is there maybe away around it?

HDMI over Single CAT6 (with IR) using Network Switch

cool. but you still need a Matrix Switch at the back end.

HDMI over Single CAT6 (with IR) using Network Switch

Typical HDMI over CAT5 extenders won't work over an ethernet switch. The technology is not compatible. You need a straight wire run, as you would get through a patch panel. I've never seen an HDMI over CAT5 extender that works over a switch, but i suppose anything is possible nowadays.

HDMI over Single CAT6 (with IR) using Network Switch

yeah, use a matrix switch instead of a splitter for your sources and outputs. Steer clear of the ethernet switch idea, straight wire with solid core CAT6 shielded cables is best, use a patch panel if you have to.

    Another F5/SRPP

upping the the resistance didn't help much. Bias at +545 mV and -558mV w. 0v DC offset on left channel. Don't seem to be able to get rid of the 10-15 mV discrepancy between + and -. Opinions?
