So,

My parents' Yamaha RXV-663's IR eye has stopped working. Neither the universal nor the yamaha remote works with the AVR, though they work on other equipment. The receiver does have a remote control IN and remote control OUT jack at the back. As far as i know these are unpowered.

Can someone recommend an inexpensive fix?
