Rectiifier grounds connect at terminal strip, then from terminal strip a single lead terminates at the 0 volt ground. 0-volt is on PSU, check page one of thread. I have no chassis grounds on this system.

As far as the signal cables is concerned, the purple is the ground, it terminates with a spade lug on the 0 Volt amp ground. yellow/green is earth yes, the earth from IEC terminates behind the thermistor as indicated in page 1 of this thread, the amp board earths both terminate on 0 Volt.

Ok, so i'm blowing fuses like nobody's business on my F5. When I hook it up "Source >> F5 >> wharfedale 9.1 speakers", i get a loud hum, very loud in fact. This is before i switch it on. Switching it on blows the fuse, fiddling with it blows  the fuse. Removing the RCA leads from the inputs...

    The Loud button

it's a tough one. purists usually advocate stereo listening without any form of equalization, but as you say, sometimes a fiddling with the bass & treble can make things sound better to my ears.

biasing is interesting on this thing. as soon as i close it up, characteristics change quite a bit. which makes it difficult to tune, as opening it up changes the readouts again. Anyway, it's been cooking a while now, and i think i've finally got it sorted ready for hookup. fingers crossed.

I've tried to keep the signal inputs as far away from the transformer as possible. The one speaker output (red/black twist) runs quite close to it, but that is again in an effort to keep the speaker output away from the signal input. i'll listen for hum this evening.

For testing purposes it will go in place of a 200w emotiva, but ultimately it will replace a Rotel RB-960bx power amp.

Ok, topless shot incoming. biasing is done for now (a few fuses later). I'll put the top on and swop this out with my main lounge amp for the next week or so. We'll see how she goes, and then i'll fine tune the black art that is biasing the F5.
