    QLED vs OLED...?

In July I had to replace my trusty Sharp TV after my son threw a remote into it. My TV was an LCD purchased in 2009, so pretty much out dated but I loved it's colour accuracy. So its replacement had to be accurate with colours. not "vivid" nor "popping" colours, but accurate. The day I pulled...

    Disposing a TV

I would like to dispose my LCD tv. My son cracked the LCD's glass with a remote and it's cheaper to replace the tv than importing the Sharp panel. So I would like to know where dead TV's go? I am in JHB, Sandton Thanks

    Pro amplifier fan mods

I fitted a Nexus fan in my amp then and halved it's voltage to be slower. The fan is really quiet without even reducing it's speed. https://nexustek.us/case-fan/80mm-basic I only use Nexus fans now as they are extremely quiet and durable. You can source it locally, you'll have to search the net.

Fine....but can we at least agree that the beams are not part of the speakers, but they will be used to build the  :pleasant: speakers...?

    10" sub-woofers

As promised, the build photos: Now with a few filters applied in REW. I only applied filters from 80hz to the first NULL around 40hz. That NULL is there with all three subs I've had in this room. From these 10 inches to a 15 inch MFW-15. The second...

    10" sub-woofers

I use two JBL GTO 1014 (10 inches) drivers in a tapped horn. In that configuration they have integrated very well with the speakers and they do not run out of breath. They are quick enough for music, they keep up very well with the mains as if the sub is not there and they go extremely low in...

Dealing with an amp without low/high pass filters

I'll have to stress them with the NAD at full range to isolate the issue. The NAD is rated the same as the Krell at 150W into 8 ohms, although we know some amps are more equal than others.

Dealing with an amp without low/high pass filters

The mains are B&W 603 S2 The amp is KRELL KAV 300i. The previous amp was NAD C 275BEE which didn't have this problem because the high pass filter had been applied between the preamp and the amp in MiniDSP. So I can't even blame the amp before trying out the NAD without the filter.
