Restoring a Telequipment D43 valve oscilloscope

Interesting project  Sidetrack , please move/remove if necessary:  does anyone know of a "how to use the oscilloscope 101/ Dummies type" read?  Browsed some but a simple setup and functions of different controls as well as uses in audio will be appreciated

    Ideas for MM valve phonostage

10000 views, nice Ari  These components  are output protection, I think it protects if V3 were to fail, but really not sure   I'd prefer only one cap in the signal path there instead  of 2.  If these 4 components are omitted, should  the value of C7 be increased/decreased?

    Ideas for MM valve phonostage

Will hopefully start on this once I return from holiday.  I have some questions though: 1.  Can C8, R17, D3 and D4 be omitted and what will the effect/benefit/risk be 2.  I'd like to add some SUT's as I want to use it for MM as well as LOMC.  Can these be soldered in parallel with the current...

    YNWaN Diy Record Clamps

Wow and flutter of turntables are specified by the manufacturer as it can be fairly audible (selling point perhaps), depending on the amount of pitch fluctuation.  I think in theory a clamp should be beneficial as it might prevent "micro movement/slippage" at the record/platter interface...

:vsad: Very true,  expensive lesson though.  Same disappointment can sometimes happen with Return on investment once you upgrade

    Home Theater on UPS

chrisc :  Is the extra battery connected in parallel with the internal one, doesn't it matter if a/h or type of battery is different .  I have a few smaller UPS units, can same be done with them and can I remove the existing batteries (must be replaced  anyway) and just add/use gel...

    Speaker switch

If it is just a switch,  surely you can use it " wrong way round" by using speaker connections as inputs etc

    Which turntable is worth repairing?

If I were you I'll spend money and time on your existing Lenco, if it it something like a L75 etc.  Lots of info/upgrades available on the Net (Lencoheaven etc....) .

    Which turntable is worth repairing?

I found the Beograms difficult to work on.  The Garrard in this case might be best bet

    Turntable platform

Will you consider DIY as an option? I might have a "platform" of sorts, you'll have to mount it.  Are you looking for something to wall mount, or just isolation underneath?
