Standalone unit, so it seems it will be Uraltone Much appreciated, will contact you once this gets off the ground .  Valves in the schematics are the same.  How do different JFET's affect gain/noise and how is gain calculated?

I've compared some schematics, especially these 2: 1.  en.uraltone.com 2.  Vacuum tube audio PH12 But then I bumped into this :thinking:, which seems quite complicated...

I had a Defy inverter unit installed in my office not too long ago.  Not sure about noise, but suppose to run cheaper "An inverter type air-conditioner adjusts the speed of the compressor to control the refrigerant (gas) flow rate, thereby consuming less current and power."

Morning Phono amp is up and running  :groovy:.  I only tested it on the workbench with some old Coral speakers but sound/soundstage/stereo etc seems very nice.  No hum to speak of once I connect the filament ground to HT ground.  Temporarily stuck it (green/yellow) to the chassis.  Still some...

So I seem to have the filament power supply sorted (thx for all the help), stable at about 6.2Vdc when attached to filaments.  So starting  with the chassis (bought a few from GECO/Heinrich some time ago so it will match the rest of my system).  Different panel mount RCA connectors are leftover...

So after spending too much time trying to use the existing transformer  for HT and filaments I decided  to go for a separate  transformer for filaments only.  Found one in my spare/used parts that is rated 2.8A with only one set of secondaries rated 0-16V.  Will buy 7806 voltage regulator...

:giggle:, I must always recheck, the "-" side  of the diode is also flat. So I got the filaments connected and all seems OK.  Tried different input Vdc but noticed 2 things: 1.  If I measure, with filaments working, when input voltage to the PCB is 156Vdc that the voltage between pin 1 and 3...

Can there be a "phase" difference of the Vac between white and blue secondaries due to direction of windings and what will the effect thereof be?  Some people on the Net advocate separate rectification and only then connecting in parallel  :thinking:
