    Subs frequency response and dbs

Volco Enterprises took aver agency for SVS. Maybe the prices are a bit better now (but got no idea).

    SvS Subwoofer dealer needed

Volco Enterprises is the SA agent for SVS. Maybe contact them to get hold of a local dealer. Do not think SVS sell via their site to SA as they do have local representation.

    Multiple subs for smoothing.

Very impressive and eye opening. Maybe I just gave up too quickly on the multiple subs idea, but could not get it better (at one position though) independent of where (several positions) and how many subs (up to 5) I tried. Fortunately the people that sits in the bass hit-spots in my room love...

Pardon me while I have a small meltdown.....

Has the sub not got a speaker level input?
  6. carel1966

    Quick question re sub level

There should not be. If the same output is achieved in the end it should make a minimal difference. It may have to do with sensitivity, or something else, that you preferred one setting over the other.

    Help Choose a Phone Please

I have the Note 4 and very happy with it. As said above, as the Note 5 is coming some good deals should become available on the Note 4.

    Do you use tone controls???

I was very anti tone control (grew up with my father teaching me that if the equipment is good then you don't need tone controls.) ... that was until I discovered room correction in the Anthem D2V, and have been using tone controls (in the form of room correction) ever since.

    Subwoofer Quandry

Great options mentioned as well. Tried some of them previously and were impressed with the Golden Ear Forcefield 5 for the price. My only complaint was bottom reach (although specs look good measurement suggest it is way overstated). Also not close to the slam of something like the DB1 or Revel...

    My Latest Addition

Looks great! Now you can sit back and enjoy (for a while) :)

    Subwoofer Quandry

I can honestly recommend the DB1. Over the years I moved from a smallish Boston Sub to a Sonor Sub (think it was 12?) to a Revel B15, which was quite a big increment each time, and then a while ago to a DB1, which again was a worthwhile upgrade. Simply the best sub I have heard. Bass slam is...

    Any Vapors Here..

Also Twisp (Clearo) - same with juice. Tried some of the other ones (NICO-E etc.) but found Twisp to be most dependable and the service of the stall we use are great. No hassle in replacing items that stopped working within warranty period.

    Any Vapors Here..

Been vaping for just over a year. No more cigarettes since. Mix as follows: 40% Tabacco 0% Nicotine; 40% Toasted 0% Nicotine; 20 % Nut Brittle (18mg Nicotine)

    Subwoofer Quandry

It sounds like the subs are equidistant from him, so this would not apply. If both subs are outputting the same signal peaks and nulls would be even more amplified. To me it still sounds like one of the subs is out of phase, but not sure why that would be if all settings are the same.

    Subwoofer Quandry

Are you sure one sub is not out of phase? What two subs equidistant will do is show the nulls (from your room and listening position) more as well, but should not affect all frequencies. Try one sub at a different distance and see what happens.

What is more IMPORTANT to you, looks or sound?

I've NEVER bought anything because of its looks. No matter how bad it fits in aesthetically if the sound is what I like then that is what I will go for.

    My next big upgrade

Good luck with the treatment. I got permanent tinnitus in my right ear (from too many concerts, motor sport etc.), and also some frequencies are not that well "recorded" anymore. Very irritating, but found that the brain eventually compensates for this allowing the soundstage to move to the...

Movie Volume problem - Vocal vs Actions Scenes

Haha! I do exactly the same. By default my sub volume is -3dB and Center +3dB for most of the films/series we watch :)

Movie Volume problem - Vocal vs Actions Scenes

Unfortunately not the case. The centre carries the majority of the soundtrack, including voice, but also anything that should be centre on screen.  Front L+R and surrounds mostly just used for effects.
