Hey
The treaded inserts are easy to find. You get those even at Galmar at minimal cost think under R2 but the spikes are more difficult.
Once bought inserts for swivel chair from Galmar and had them machined at engineers to be spiked. Worked well..
My experience is that you should first...
Have equivalent of 5 complete hifis and only one listening room to the absolute ire of my wife. Have stuff in every room of the house and every cupboard. Almost every day have some comment from her.
Friends call me the cable guy ( no ref to Jim)
Will mend my ways :blah:
Who knows.
Have...
Know the feeling of relief.
First rule of thumb, switch off equipment then swap interconnect sides left to right......
If problem persists say a prayer
Then switch off again and swap speaker cable behind amp.....
If problem swaps to other speaker then you have a problem.
Been through similar experience and walked away from a fantastic deal but if it sounds too good to be true......
Guy with good equipment but not familiar with hifi. He did not know what a RCA plug was and then i went to radio silence  :puke:
So much joy to see something so desirable...
Personally preferred the older lists alphabetical and have every one since 2004 but not too sure about this years one since i use it as a quick price guide reference only
Had speakers damaged in robbery and actally made money on the whole deal since insurance co insisted on full payout for speakers and not the depreciated amount for the speakers. Then sold them and scored R10000. Not to show off so may not work out too bad for you depending on payout..
Know this...
From all i have been studying and told by some really knowledgeable audio guys is that the more power the amp has the more the control it has on the speaker just as a 1.3 l engine is less comfortable at 140kph than a 3l engine. If the reserve is not there in the amp the sound may not be optimum...
If you have them sent make sure they are double boxed as the stuff can get battered in transit.
Very expensive. Tried to bring a logitech squeezebox from America $ 1000 in postage for one box 13kg. :o :nutter:
Forgot the whole deal there and then
Wouldn't use water on speakers especially near drivers.
The grommets are the easiest thing to replace and not too expensive but should not give in after only 3years
They are apparently fantastic and I have heard this from two different sources ( not to be confused I mean two different people ). Not heard by myself but will soon enough
