AC power consumption of a power amp

Hi All
I am busy planning a solar system for my house.
The power rating on the back panel of my Rotel power amp RB981, is 400W.

My question is.....Does the amp draw 400w when it is switched on or is that rating of 400w applicable only at full volume?
I normally listen to music at about 60 - 70 db which is less than 40% on the volume knob...what is the approx current draw at that volume?
