Thanks for the advice Ian. So a device with a lower Rds value would be advisable as I understand that overheating is the main cause of this component failing. A suggested improvement is to install a larger heat sink, which apparently has been incorporated in subsequent models. Regards   Andrew.

Recently relocated and switched from ADSL to Rain LTE with Afrihost while waiting for fibre to arrive. Must say, have had nothing but good service from Afrihost in the past but doubt I will sign up for fibre with them, as they seems a tad expensive compared to other offerings.

Hi Builders warehouse has a textured convex covered conduit, the cable track is a shallow rectangle but the cover is a significantly wider convex shape. Looks far better than the standard conduit.

Hi When you say PC fan, are you referring to the case fans, CPU fan or GPU fan? Have a look at the fan control profiles in you're BIOS and see if a less aggressive profile reduces fan speeds, or delays them kicking in. Would suggest finding a good temperature monitoring app in the process just...
