Hi Ken do you find the streaming video quality on an apple TV 4K better than the streaming via the built in TV apps ie Netflix app on the LG Web/OS compared to same app on the Apple TV? Curious and I recall somewhere your TV is an LG OLED, excuse me if I m wrong on that.

Lack of 8K content as pointed out.  On an 8K TV you are watching upscaled 1080P and 4K content.  Native 4K content on a 4k TV will have the image quality edge on 4K upscaled to 8K But if you spend 800K on a TV can image quality ever meet expectations?

I have a 65' 2019 Q80R and can echo that I have no complaints re black level performance and its a very bright TV which means it's a great watch when the lights are up as well.

Continuing my reply re media streaming devices above I left off an important "feature" when looking at video performance that of frame rate matching. Currently the Apply TV 4K 2021 is ahead of the pack by far there, and again no investment in the Apple Eco System at all on this side.
