hey dex if you did not run Audyssey again after replacing the center speaker then I suggest you that. Remember different speakers have different characteristics and Audyssey will set according to those characteristics. Therein may lie the problem. Try that and let us know how it turns out...

hey Dex, just keep the unit well ventilated. Surprisingly the xx9 series did not have heat issues like the previous models. My 809 ran surprisingly cool compared to my 807 which o n certain days I swear I could fry an egg on. Issues aside they are damn strong amps.

well done on the purchase of your amp. A word of advice tho' when connecting the HDMI cables on the ONKYO I suggest and I am sure many on here will agree that you totally "power off" the unit, i.e even if you have to pull the power cable out the socket do that, and then connect the HDMI cables...

if the speaker indicators are displayed on the front panel then the hdmi board is fine but if no speaker icons are displayed then its the hdmi board.  :thumbs:

if I were you I would shop around as well. Simplex Radio in Durban stocks some pretty decent stuff like Cambridge Audio and Rotel. They will also give you very good pricing and service.

I bought some of those recently and they had braided sleeves which were quite stiff.

the integra's are pretty strong with movies and music. Even the 20.4 is a blast. @rodja onkyo amps don't seem to last beyond 2 years  :facepalm:

I have noticed on the onkyo site that the newer models do not audyssey like the 838. Only the very top tier amps seem to incorporate Audyssey, not sure for how long tho. Not sure how the boards are holding up on the newer models but will not take a chance with another Onkyo as its getting damn...

The Integra for its size is a beast of a little amp. I have a 20.4 in my bedroom and its excellent value.

For R11990 you can get the Marantz SR5008. Comes complete with Audyssey MultEQ XT and rated at 100 wats per channel. Marantz has advised that 70% of this power is available when all channels are driven. Its a good amp.
