My 809 failed to reproduce sound this morning. Got a feeling the HDMI board is also stuffed. Going to be send it thru to Audiotronic for a diagnosis and to see if the cost of repair is worth it. Amp is fairly new as well with minimal usage. Never going the Onkyo or Integra route again

yea never connect or disconnect the HDMI plugs with the unit still powered to "on". Seems the HDMI boards are a bit of a pain and a bit too sensitive even with slight arching when the plugs are disconnected and reconnected. Even the source components need to be unplugged when swapping those...

yea I know, the demagnetizer did little as well. cleaning by hand and adjusting the head with a good original recording made the difference.

The Cambridge 851 is  a brilliant sounding amp but speaker matching will be an issue as the MA's are also on the bright side. I you do consider the 851 I will STRONLGY suggest matching it with a speaker that will tame the brightness of the 851, if not you will quickly want to get rid of the 851...

the Cambridge is very good with music but I must stress that speaker pairing with Cambridge products is very important.
