Feedback on ordering from Toutlehautparleur - Spoiler: Cheap Fast Shipping!

I'll look into that, thanks. Is it still with a courier and not thr postal service? Don't want to deal with sapo and risk parcels not arriving. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

    Insane Tech, Insane Price...but WOW

This is true, however it does play a role. We see it all the time with cars, the GF's i20 is all scratchy plastic inside and my BMW has nice soft touch leather and other soft materials and in turn when we go over bumpy road the BMW is far quieter and has no rattles, not to mention the super...

Feedback on ordering from Toutlehautparleur - Spoiler: Cheap Fast Shipping!

Seems I used them back in 2019 to order some 3" drivers, although back then I shipped to my Aramex address. I know Aramex have gotten more expensive since then and I suspect these guys have gotten cheaper shipping since. 4x drivers come to 19.3KG and the shipping is 199 Euro (R3700) which is...

    Soldering iron selection

I was considering a Magnum but then found a temp control soldering iron and hot air station for dirt cheap from China and it works like a bomb! Came with an assortments of soldering tips too. Works well, no issues at all. Heats up quickly too. I do not see much of a need to purchase anything...

    Car stereo bookshelf build

I agree with this, using a sealed enclosure may be best. However bass may be lacking a bit - not sure what you are expecting from these speakers. The drivers don't appear to be designed for lots of bass anyways - they won't go very low.

    Car stereo bookshelf build

Car doors are leaky, so not the same as having a sealed  enclosure. Not uncommon for holes to lead outside the car and for the door will to not seal the inside of the door from the inside of the car cabin. The drivers are also separate from one another by quite a distance compared to your...

High Efficiency Waveguide build - The quest to rock!

That Beyma is an awesome driver. I recall Jimgore using them when he was replicating the InConcert Miles speakers - although those made use of the Beyma TPL-150H and not a compression driver. johnc used the 12p80nd also crossed over to the TPL-150H and those sounded awesome. He has since...

High Efficiency Waveguide build - The quest to rock!

Yes, apparently Pro Audio no longer bring in RCF. Interesting, never heard that about Faital. I wanted a driver for sub duty, how do you find Beyma compared to Faital for interest sake? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

High Efficiency Waveguide build - The quest to rock!

The prices skyrocketed beginning of lockdown as well. Not sure if they've since come down or not. I reached out to Clint and the driver I wanted was going to be over R8k where it use to retail for around R4k when The Sound Guy was still around. Was the reason I went with the RCF over the...

High Efficiency Waveguide build - The quest to rock!

I do agree that HE drivers have a certain sound characteristic to them which other drivers do not and I love the larger paper cones. Although the "tune" on the speakers - the eq and such, would ultimately ensure you achieve the sound you're after I feel. I have a 15" RCF driver in my car as an...

High Efficiency Waveguide build - The quest to rock!

I've heard good things about that compression driver. Not sure how the eminence will fare for midbass, I recall looking at them a while ago and their xmax was quite limited. What sort of enclosure you looking at? Sealed? Ported? Something else? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

Active crossover with flat phase correcting responce for better control.

Very cool and affordable if one does not care for the other features a dsp offers. Do you only offer it as 6db / octave? Would be cool if one could change that. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

    DIY Sound Bar

Very nice. I've been looking at buying a new TV and have forgotten that some people actually use the built in TV speakers and some high end TVs tend to place some emphasis on their speakers - a complete waste for me but not for everyone. Some are happy with stock sound. The sound bar looks...

Using seas drivers for deeper and more definition bass on fs250's

Ahh man, swapping out the driver could change the way the speaker sounds altogether and you may not like it. Have you considered eq as it may be a cheaper way to get the sound you're after. Spending just under R16k on replacement drivers and having spent I don't know how much on the speakers...

    18"er open baffle build

From what I recall, the baffle size and design will determine the low end extension. This is due to the wave "wrapping around" the baffle and causing cancellation. I've never taken a proper look into it, although one would require a far bigger baffle in order to get more low end extension...
