    Your rig

Impressive: Dubai tourism and Samsung should both be giving you advertising commission - looks damn fine Kind of embarrassed to post a pic of my kit when I have to go after this

Distortion on when bi-amped Denon AVR-X3300, Causes & Fixes?

Good point - thank you. Might be worth asking Roy for his input. The are certainly 3 pairs of terminals on the back that were all bridged originally. I removed the the bridges between the middle an lower pair before bi-amping so that the bass drivers were driven by one Amp and the mid and...

    That's what I'm starting to think.  :-\

Distortion on when bi-amped Denon AVR-X3300, Causes & Fixes?

I have a Denon X3300 driving a set of Old Sonor Audio AVSA kit 2 speakers. For some time the amp was driving the speakers using just using the primary left and right channel and the speaker were fine. Recently, since it became apparent I wasn't ever going to be using channels 6 & 7 (still got...

Digital half way around the world, but 1m USB cables corrupts a digital signal?

Please post the link - would be really interested to see what they say. If they are talking about a compressed stream I would agree. Tidal do now offer a Master Audio which 24bit 96kHz - better than 16bit 44.1kHz if your equipment is good enough and your ears can hear it Agreed - but thats not...

    Value for money speaker cable

For all my nonsense about Aberdare cable I ended getting some Tachii 4S11 from DesignbyMax. Similar spec and price to OP. Not bad stuff. Will look at getting more, me thinks for the oroginal project I was looking for the Aberdare cable.

Digital half way around the world, but 1m USB cables corrupts a digital signal?

Oh 'nought', not another 'one'! I was reading some the stuff describing the virtues of high end USB cables and it amazes me, engineers can make signal transmission half way around, through conversions to from digital electrical to optical, (e.g. under sea fibre right down to FTTH) to...

(Yet) Another USB cable test - with examples

Nicely done! Fairly good way of proving the digital signal is the same.

Ceiling Vertical Drop Down TV lifts

Has anyone built one of these themselves or perhaps used one of the Lumi or similar units that are on the market for a few grand. I would like to give an installation like this a go, but am loath to part with significantly more than the TV costs to for a motorised TV lift from the only guys I...

Thanks - will give them a go

    Why don't TV boxes last?

So different symptom for both units - i.e. no common cause of 'failure'. Not sure I can offer anything useful on Xiaomi MiBox other than if you have 'rooted' it or side loaded apps that could be the cause (got a 10" lenovo tab that my father though would be a good idea to 'root' that gets...

Marantz 7013 and Denon 6700 comparisons.

Cosmetically, the Denon looks prettier to me - I'm not a fan of the recent Marantz 'design language', but I am curious as to why the the Marantz 7015 (and 7103) are taller than their quite obviously similar X6700 counterpart Looking at the back panel the speaker terminals are in the same place...

Hiding Cables on Walls - Clever tricks?

Indeed yes. Quite a smart idea. At 16AWG, probably best left to shorter runs.

Where to get a Dynaudio D260 tweeter?

Need to do a little testing but I might be in need of a D260 tweeter - any pointers where I can get one please?

    Marketing People and Misleading Specs

Hey hot stuff  :flame: And THD then stands for 'Total Heat Dissipation'? Jokes aside, subjectively, I see less of that now than 10 years ago. Just wondering if the marketing folks have given up on that as the average buyer is a touch wiser now

Hiding Cables on Walls - Clever tricks?

Did that in my main lounge area - that routed channel was about 40x8 or 10, I think and it was enough to encase the cables for the rear speakers nicely. Unfortunately this new project doesn't allow for that as I would have to cross walkways/doors.
