I have a Denon X3300 driving a set of Old Sonor Audio AVSA kit 2 speakers. For some time the amp was driving the speakers using just using the primary left and right channel and the speaker were fine. Recently, since it became apparent I wasn't ever going to be using channels 6 & 7 (still got the Sonor di-pole speaker sitting in the cupboard :-\ ) in the current location, I decided to use the Bi-Amp facility. The rational being to utilise the remaining two amplifiers circuits to share the stereo load between 4 amps.
Now, the speakers audibly distort when volume level is set above 70 (out of 98). Also the top of the amp is hot to the touch after running for a relatively short time too (55-60?C, I guess). I don't have a frame of reference from previous use, so not sure if this temperature is normal, but I don't recall it getting that hot.
Any pointers, suggested corrective action or possible causes that I could look at would be appreciated - thank you
